Luis Pacheco de Melo
Chief Financial Officer, Portugal Telecom
Luis Miguel da Fonseca Pacheco de Melo has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Portugal Telecom, SGPS S.A. since April 2006.
In addition to the CFO role, he is responsible for PT's Pension Fund, supervises the African businesses and sits on the Board of Brasilcel, the Joint Venture with Telefonica that controls VIVO in Brazil.
From 2002 - 2006, he was CFO of PT Multimedia, the cable company owned by Portugal Telecom.
Before joining Portugal Telecom Group he was an Executive Director of BES Investment, a subsidiary of Banco Espirito Santo Group, from 1998 - 2002. From 1995 - 1998, he worked in London in investment banking as a Director of UBS Limited. He holds an MBA from IESE Barcelona (1992) and Civil Engineering Degree from Instituto Superior Tecnico de Lisboa (1984 - 1989).
